Mike Young

Managing Director

Mike Young is the Founder and Managing Director of Somerset Partners. He previously spent 15 years as a Fund Manager at Packer & Co in Perth. Before that, Mike was an Investment Analyst at Magellan Financial Group in Sydney which he joined at its inception in 2006. Mike began his career as a graduate at Macquarie Bank where he spent five years in Equity Research roles, based in Sydney and London. He has a BCom (Hons) from the University of WA.

Vanessa Cockerill

Chief Operating Officer

Vanessa Cockerill is a Chartered Accountant with over 25 years’ experience in both the public and private sectors. Vanessa has held senior positions at ASIC in Melbourne and Perth in the regulatory and compliance space. She has also spent many years working in private practice including at PricewaterhouseCoopers in London and KordaMentha in Perth, specialising in financial advisory across a diverse range of industries. Vanessa has a BCom from the University of WA.
